Annette Serwanga Dennard earned her M.A. Ed in Early Childhood Education from Mills College in Oakland, CA. Her career spans 18 years of direct work with children ages 0–6, including serving as Program Director at The Child Education Center in Berkeley, managing 18 staff across 5 classrooms.
She served as Head Toddler Teacher at Mountain Boulevard Montessori and as a Teacher Improvement Grant Consultant supporting 3 campuses at The Child Unique Montessori. Her philosophy integrates Montessori and Reggio-Emilia approaches with developmentally appropriate practice.
Today, through Serwanga Consulting and The Dennard Montessori Homeschool, she helps families, educators, organizations, and government agencies support children's earliest — and most critical — years of development.
"My 4-year-old is now writing her full name and reading simple books. I was amazed watching her progress in just two months using Annette's guides. The CDC comparison chart made me realize how far ahead she really is."
"Annette helped me understand my son's challenging behaviors weren't defiance — they were communication. Her strategies worked within the first week. As an educator myself, I was truly impressed by her depth of knowledge."
"The monthly group is the most practical parenting resource I've ever joined. Annette answers every question and gives you a real action plan. My 3-year-old can count to 50 now — I'm not even joking."
"We enrolled our daughter in the summer program and she came home writing sentences from the books they read. Annette's approach makes learning feel like play — which is exactly what a 5-year-old needs."
The window for early childhood learning is short — and the gap between children who get structured support and those who don't grows wider every year. Give your 2–5 year old the start they deserve.
